LAURETANA AND SUSTAINABILITY: TWO DROPS OF WATER
Sustainability means respect for the environment, but not only. It means to commit oneself to hand down a better world from an environmental, social and economic point of view to the future generations. Since we are a firm intrinsically linked to well being and nature, we feel strong responsibilities and we want to devote ourselves every day to improve our territory and the Planet, following the direction shown by United Nation and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
Following a virtuous process, Lauretana has obtained the coveted environmental certification ISO:14001, that defines the fundamental requisites for the realization of a System of environmental management aimed at a better sustainability. The adoption of this System implies the responsible, conscious and effective use of the natural resources necessary to the productive processes, promoting at the same time activities for the reduction of the consumptions and for an efficient waste management, where it is favored the recovery and recycling of the materials concerning their disposal, so that Lauretana can perfectly realize the principles of circular economy and create value for the whole system, to the benefit of the environment and employment.
The bottles used for our products are fully recyclable. Lauretana water is bottled in glass
using a returnable bottle system, which allows us to reuse the containers several times.
Depending on the product and bottle size, our PET bottles contain up to 30% recycled
material (rPET). PET bottles are also designed to be 100% recyclable and, when correctly
disposed of through separate waste collection, they can be sent for recycling and used to
produce new materials and products.
We also pay close attention to other aspects of the packaging life cycle. For example, the aluminium caps from our returnable glass bottles are collected and sent for recycling through dedicated separate waste collection processes.

To improve the water and energetic saving and reduce, at the same time, consumptions, we have realized great investments in highly technological machineries from the partner Krones, leader firm at a world level in the bottling systems. In this way Lauretana has drastically reduced the energetic and water consumptions, above all during the phases of industrial washing, so that we can affirm that to bottle water, we use less water. All our lines and equipment are high- tech and grant a production with less impact on the environment and at the same time with a complete safety for the workers.
Lauretana has made a choice: to treat in a responsible and conscious way the natural resources in the productive processes, reducing the consumptions and favoring the reuse and recycling of waste. We have created new job and development opportunities, respecting nature and the local identity: dealing with a natural product it is of fundamental importance the greatest safeguard of the sources where Lauretana springs as well as the correct management of the territory, thus our intervention contributes to preserve and maintain it unpolluted.

Ecovadis (www.ecovadis.com) is one of the most trusted sustainability rating platforms currently available. Operating in over 160 countries worldwide, it includes the voluntary participation of more than 75,000 companies across 200 industry sectors. The Ecovadis program not only involves the careful monitoring of verifiable CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) parameters, but also recommends actions aimed at the continuous improvement of environmental and social practices in line with institutional sustainability goals.
